Choose Peace: A Call to Be a Peacemaker in Troubled Times

The noise in our world is growing louder by the day. Division, anger, and fear seem to be swirling all around us. But as daughters of the Most High, we are not called to echo the chaos.
We are called to be peacemakers.
Recently, I had the honor of speaking at a church on the topic of peace. I shared about a deeply personal season in 2021 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a time of tremendous uncertainty, but in my desperation, I sought the Lord for His peace.
And he gave it.
It wasn’t the kind of peace the world offers. It was that peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). It made no earthly sense, but it anchored me. However, it didn’t come passively. I pursued it—broken, surrendered, and determined.
Later that day, I shared a second message on what it means to be a peacemaker. Sister, peace is not only something we receive—it’s something we sow.
Here’s what I believe God is calling us to today:
· To use our platforms to build bridges, not burn them.
· To extend grace to those who are different from us.
· To listen—not just to reply—but to understand.
· To embody the love of Christ in every interaction.
Jesus didn’t avoid messy people or difficult conversations. He walked among them. He loved them. His legacy lives on because of that radical grace.
So what legacy will we leave?
Will we be known for division—or for being women of peace?
Today, I encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to be a peacemaker in your family, your workplace, your church, and your online presence. The world is watching. Let’s show them Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be a woman who seeks peace and pursues it. Let my words and actions reflect Your love. Use me to bring healing to divided spaces. In Jesus’ name, amen.
With Grace,
